About Us

Our Story

The Rockwood Seventh-day Adventist Church since its establishment in 1975
has witnessed many changes in the Rockwood Area of Gresham, the landscape
of our hometown, for example, is nearly unrecognizable from just a few
decades ago.

But one thing that hasn't changed is the diverse makeup of those who call
our congregation home. Our occupations, employment status, social status,
and culture do not define us as we gather in community to worship our
Creator. While there is no substitute for a personal relationship with
Christ, we benefit greatly by joining one another several times each week
in wonder and praise. At the Rockwood Seventh-day Adventist Church, we take
seriously this freedom of fellowship and the blessings that come from
lifting one another up in times of struggle; it's a divine work that keeps
us all busy, but especially the pastoral staff, ministry teams, and prayer
warriors!

As Seventh-day Adventists, members of our church share a set of fundamental
beliefs. Some of these are unique to our denomination, and others will be
familiar to readers with a Protestant background. If you have any
questions, please email the pastor or stop by church on Saturday morning
and ask someone sitting in the pew next to you. It's always interesting to
hear members describe in their own words why they find value in a
particular belief and how it points them to a God of love.

We invite you to the Rockwood Seventh-day Adventist Church just as you are.
It's an exciting opportunity for us to grow together in both our
relationships on Earth and in the knowledge and faith that will bring us
closer to Heaven and Christ's original plan of perfection.
